The executive leadership of church organizations (denominations, judicatories, synods, regional conferences, presbyteries, etc.) is an increasingly complex role requiring the capacities to manage both the demands of its ongoing life and the need to innovate transformation. Executive leaders often find themselves charged with leading groups of churches struggling to find relevancy, while working within a structure that has become more regulatory in nature. Increasingly, the focus of their time is on maintenance and regulation.
Focus of the ExecLeader 360
The ExecLeader 360 is a tool that provides the basis for understanding the role of this position and gives the leader a precise picture of where they can best begin to cultivate the capacities they will need. It identifies the leadership factors relevant to leading church organizations in the midst of major cultural transformation. These leadership capacities are (in many cases) new to the church world. Leaders in the past were not required to focus on such matters as managing change, forming people and shaping systems for innovation. Today, executive leaders have to work in contexts of high ambiguity and uncertainty where there is a longing to recover a past and little awareness of how organizational cultures are transformed. More is demanded of an executive leadership than ever before. Developing the requisite leadership skills and capabilities does not happen by accident. It requires focus attention and deliberate processes of leadership developmental. The 360 focuses on doing this.
What is the the Executive Leader 360?

Who participates in the Executive Leader 360?
The Executive will complete the 360 questionnaire on him/her self and invite 15 - 25 other leaders to also complete the same questionnaire. This group would include such people as peers, staff, clergy, Board members selected by the executive.
